'Afternoon Delight' Trailer: So, Mom Brought Home a Stripper
6 hours ago
"The stripper is in the maid's room. How did the stripper get in the maid's room?"
Now, that's just not the sort of conversation you want to have with your significant other, right?
Fortunately for Kathryn Hahn's sexless suburbanite mom character, when she does have that little chat with her hubby (portrayed by Ted Mosby Josh Radnor), it's she who's on the grillee end of the roast.
Here we have the first trailer for "Afternoon Delight", a Sundance-debuted dramedy also starring Juno Temple and Jane Lynch, and as you can see the movie revolves Hahn's Rachel, a bored housewife and mother who tries to spice up her sex life by going to a strip club with her husband Jeff (Radnor). There, she finds herself getting some, ahem, private treatment from a nineteen-year-old stripper named McKenna (Temple) — who, we later find out, is not just a stripper but a "full »

Hollywood's 12 Worst Cases of Ethnic Miscasting
7 hours ago
When it was first announced that this week's "The Lone Ranger" was going to star Johnny Depp as the Native American warrior Tonto, fans around the country scratched their heads ... and not just because they were wondering what he would look like with a giant dead bird for a hat. Depp as Tonto? Really?
Depp, as it turns out, does have some Native American ancestry and was recently adopted by the Comanche nation. But his role as Tonto and the subsequent casting of William Fichtner as the Japanese villain Shredder in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" did get us thinking about one of the most insidious aspects of Hollywood's moviemaking machine: namely, their ongoing insensitivity and downright obliviousness when it comes to casting ethnic characters.
So with that in mind, here's a look at some of the most egregious examples. Because the only color that seems to matter in Hollywood is green. »

Supercut: Every Tumble (Literally!) of Kevin James' Career
8 hours ago
Ahhh, Kevin James. We love him for many reasons: the way he owns that jolly, robust appearance and then flings out all those family-friendly zingers. Oh, and there's also the matter of his unique dedication to peanut butter.* But one of the things we really love most about this man (and, let's face it, there's a lotta man to love here) is definitely his tendency to fall down.
Like, it happens everywhere, all the time. Especially in his movies, as this fun mash-up goes to show.
Throughout James' illustrious — c'mon, who's not excited for "Grown Ups 2"? — career, the man has endured several grueling tumbles in the name of physical comedy, from nervous bachelor faux pas (à la "Hitch") to rescuing an obese man from a burning building (in the man-on-man romp "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry"). It's such part and parcel to his humor that to save whatever »

Are These Famous Movie Presidents Democrats or Republicans?
It's only been a few months since President Barack Obama was inaugurated for his second term and already some folks are starting to handicap the 2016 presidential race. In the battle between the Democrats and the Republicans, there's no such thing as a clear winner, because the contest never ends.
Until now, that is, because we're about to declare a winner when we reveal which of your favorite movie presidents are Democrats and which are Republicans.
That's right — with the inauguration of President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) in this past weekend's "White House Down," we've taken a look at some of the most popular presidents in film history in order to determine exactly which side of the aisle they fall on. Was Harrison Ford's President James Marshall in "Air Force One" a Democrat or a Republican? What about Kevin Kline's fill-in President Dave Kovic in "Dave"? Or "Idiocracy"'s »

George Lucas Ties the Knot in a Galaxy Not So Far Away
12 hours ago
George Lucas has just pulled off his biggest production in years and this time it definitely won't ruin your childhood.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucas threw a massive party right here in our own galaxy — more specifically, Chicago, Il. — over the weekend to celebrate his new marriage to Mellody Hobson. The couple had tied the knot on June 22 in a private ceremony in his California-based Skywalker Ranch but took things semi-public on Saturday with an intergalactically star-studded affair.
With them, the nuptial force was!
Reportedly, Lucas and Hobson pulled out all the stops for their Windy City-based shebang. As a bit of scale reference, when was the last time you attended a wedding reception that featured Prince as the house band? Or Robin Williams as live entertainment?
Besides those luminaries, the guest list was crowded with everyone from Lucas' own "Star Wars" homies like Mark Hamill and »

'Black Nativity' Trailer: Holiday Music Meets a Little Soul-Crushery
12 hours ago
Best to go ahead and stock up on some Kleenex now, people, because the trailer alone for "Black Nativity" will be drawing out some serious sniffles for a couple of reasons.
First, Jennifer Hudson, who won an Oscar for that unforgettable pipe work in "Dreamgirls" a half-dozen years ago, is taking it to the house again with one gorgeous rendition of "Silent Night." Also, this just looks like a d**n emotional story.
In a nut-cracker shell, Hudson stars in this modern adaptation of the famed Langston Hughes Christmas play as a single mother raising her teenage son (Jacob Latimore) in Baltimore until she just can't make ends meet any longer. She's got a pair of well-to-do, religious parents (Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker) up in New York City, but they've spent decades "broken-hearted" by her life's decisions and won't soon welcome her back into their home.

Kevin Smith: I'm Too Rich to Use Kickstarter for 'Clerks 3'
Funding movies through Kickstarter is all the rage these days in Hollywood. You might recall, the folks behind "Veronica Mars" did it, raking in a cool $5.7 million from fans of the cult TV series, and then Zach Braff appealed to the "Garden State" faithful and drew $3.1 million. So, getting fans to pay for films is a legit thing right now.
But there's one movie maker who won't be turning to the crowd with an open hand, and that's Kevin Smith, who's decided to leave all that virtual "fifteen dollars, little man"-ing to the other guys.
Smith told Kcrw radio by way of The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview that his "Clerks 3" baby will not be using Kickstarter to get birthed beyond the script. The reason? Well, frankly, it's because he already knows a bunch of rich people in Hollywood who will totally give him money to do it if he wants to. »

Johnny 'One-Shot Deal' Depp Isn't So Sure About a 'Lone Ranger' Sequel
13 hours ago
This week, "The Lone Ranger" — Disney's risky $200 million+ no-spaghetti western based on an ancient radio serial — rides into town nationwide, hoping to convince you that it's one of the summer's most breathlessly entertaining blockbusters and that the second it's over you're more than ready for a sequel.
On that note, chatting up the flick with E! Online most of the stars said they're already committed to more masked justice-dealin'... with one notable holdout presenting itself in the form of Mr. Johnny Depp who apparently always considered his turn as Tonto "a one-shot deal."
Yep, while Armie Hammer's up for a "couple" of rootin' tootin' follow-ups — box office be willing, of course — and actress Ruth Wilson has her little "fingers crossed," His Depp-ness has been chanting a very different tune.
Let's just say he may not soon be seen toting around that bird hat on vacations as he does with »

Orlando Bloom 'Taking the Hobbits to Isengard' as a Farewell to Legolas
14 hours ago
Well, well, well. Look at who's got himself an elvish little sense of humor!
Orlando Bloom has now completed his work on "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" (for the uninitiated, it's also commonly* referred to as "The Hobbit 3: Shameless Cash Run"), so to celebrate him putting down that blonde wig and quiver set once and for all, Bloom and director Peter Jackson decided to pay a little homage to some on-point but long forgotten viral funnydom.
Yep, for some reason back in '07, the interwebs thought it would be hilarious to make a mocking song out of Legolas' line "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard" from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers." A couple of million views and six years later and Bloom's finally able to have a laugh about it, it seems, because Peter Jackson uploaded this "Goodbye Orlando" tribute video featuring the actor chiming »
